WinAmp Panel
The WinAmp Panel is a very nice addition to make to your Desktop Sidebar. This panel allows you to control the playback of the WinAmp media player through your Desktop Sidebar. In order for this panel to function properly you need a version of WinAmp on your computer. You can download the latest copy for free from WinAmp's Website.
Follow these steps to access the options for the WinAmp Panel:
- Right mouse click on the WinAmp Panel and choose Panel Properties
- You will need to enter the path to the WinAmp program file on you computer. The panel will have the default install location of this file entered when the panel starts. If you had a custom installation of WinAmp click on the "..." button. This will open a browser window to locate the WinAmp program file.
- You will also need to select the Version of WinAmp that is installed on your computer. (You can find this information by opening WinAmp click on Help from the toolbar select Version History.)
- Next you can select your View options:
- Selecting Show only minidisplay will switch between showing the title of the song and the artist currently playing in WinAmp every few seconds.
- With the minidisplay option you can also choose to enable/disable Scroll media information. This option scrolls the current track number, artist, and title across the panel.
- Selecting Show full size display will show both the Artist and Title of the song playing in WinAmp.
